The Best Camera for Bloggers

Over the past couple of years I’ve been using what I feel is the best camera for bloggers. Today I’m spilling all of the deets on it!

Advertisements

I started blogging for fun in December of 2016 and at that time I was taking photos and videos on my iPhone 6 Plus. Looking back now, it wasn’t the best quality but it did the job and I didn’t really know otherwise. A few months into blogging I realized that I wanted to improve on the quality of my content, even though it was still just a hobby on the side. I really wanted to see how far I could go with it and I was excited to explore my other options in the equipment sector.

After some lengthy research online and reviews by people I looked up to, I decided to save up and invest in the Olympus Pen E-PL8 Camera. I was nowhere near an expert on cameras but from what I had read, it looked to be the best option for what I was doing on Instagram, my blog and YouTube channel.

At the time I was in my second year of college, working part time and blogging on the side. I saved up my money as soon as I could and purchased the camera in the spring of 2017. Since then I have been using my E-PL8 camera for everything that I do on my social media platforms. I’ve been able to experiment with different types of photography and the quality of my content has definitely improved in comparison to using my phone.

Today I’m sharing all of my favourite features of the camera and the factors that made me decide to purchase it. If you’re just starting out as a blogger or content creator and are trying to find the perfect camera, hopefully this article will help you out! Let’s get started!

#1 Appearance and Build

The very first thing that I noticed about the E-PL8 camera was it’s luxurious appearance. The camera is available in three colourways; white, brown and black. Obviously I went for the white version because it aligns with my personal style the best. The body of the camera is leather grain and brushed aluminum, making it feel almost like an accessory. Which is perfect for creators who always have their camera on them! The camera also has grips on each side making it easier to hold if I’m filming a video or shooting selfie-style photos.

#2 User Friendliness

The next deciding factor for me was how user-friendly the camera is. Majority of the features on the camera make it super easy to use for a first-timer like myself. I was worried about having to educate myself a ton before using the camera, but I was pleasantly surprised by how easy navigating it actually was.

The touch screen is one of my favourite features because it makes shooting so much quicker and convenient. I also love the multiple shooting modes and iAuto which selects the best of the 42 modes automatically for you. I would say that 90% of the time my camera is on iAuto because, like I said, I’m not an expert and it helps get the perfect shot every time.

#3 Flip Screen

Have you ever tried taking a selfie with a camera, without knowing whether or not you’re actually in the shot? Selfies on the E-PL8 don’t have this issue because the entire touch screen flips down! This is one of those features that makes shooting very simple. I also love the flip screen because it makes shooting flatlays, or images from above, a total breeze.

#4 Built-In-Wifi

One of the features that I could not live without is the built-in-wifi. Having the ability to connect my camera to my phone within a minute is insanely convenient. This feature enables me to do two things, import photos quickly from camera to phone and view my camera shot remotely on the Olympus App.

When I’m out and about shooting for campaigns, I like to view my photos right after they’re shot. It’s much easier to see details on my phone rather than my camera, and the quick import feature makes this possible. The Olympus App on my iPhone also allows me to connect to my camera so that I can see what the camera sees, on my phone. This feature comes in handy when my camera is on a tripod and I need to be in the shot! If you visit my Instagram page, about 50% of my photos are taken using this feature.

Guide to Glowing Skin

Here is how I keep my skin glowing 24/7!

Spring is here and summer is not too far away, and one of my favourite parts about the warmer seasons is bodycare. I love a good shimmer mist or body cream that makes my skin glow. So today I’m sharing my guide to glowy skin, so that you can shine all spring and summer long.

The underlying cause of glowing skin is hydration, so to start off this guide, my first tip would be to drink enough water on the daily. I aim to drink at least 2 litres of water a day and something that helps keep me on track is my Healthish WB-1 waterbottle. Staying hydrated from the inside, will ensure a brighter and radiant glow on the outside.

My next tip for glowy skin is to moisturize twice daily, with an intense body moisturizer. My personal favourites are listed below because they penetrate deep into the skin to ensure that the moisture lasts a long time and they help with the appearance of smoother skin.

#1 The Body Shop Shea Body Butter

#2 Rodan + Fields Active Hydration Body Replenish

Another great way to hydrate the skin, especially during the daytime is to use a body oil. I say during the daytime because I find that using a body oil makes the skin look much more glowy than a regular moisturizer, and they usually smell really good so it’s a win-win! My favourite body oil right now is the OUAI Rose Hair and Body Oil. It’s got an amazing rose fragrance and doesn’t leave a sticky residue on the skin after applying.

My final tip for glowy skin in the spring and summer time is to use a shimmer mist! Recently, I started using this and it has made a big difference in how my skin looks in person and in photos. It’s particularly amazing for photos where you’re showing a bit more skin, aka the legs, chest or arm areas. The mist that I use in the OUAI Hair and Body Shine Mist. It has a really unique scent and can be used on hair and your skin. I love it because you don’t need a lot when you apply and it gives a very natural glowy look.

How do you keep your skin glowing all spring and summer long?

Nexcare Pimple Patch Review

I’m usually not one to get pimples on a regular basis, maybe one or two a month during that time, but recently I had a huge breakout on my chin and I had no idea why. It had me searching high and low for products that would get rid of them ASAP. It was quite unusual because there were about four pimples that surfaced at the same time. Thankfully, earlier that week I had seen a girlfriend of mine post about pimple patches and her IG stories intrigued me to try them out.

Pimple patches work as protective covers and sponges for all the gross sh*t that’s inside. It’s suggested that you puncture the pimple before applying the patch so that there’s an exit point. They work best when the pimple has already become white and is right at the point where you want to pop it.

I ordered the Cosrx Patches from Amazon, but since they didn’t arrive as soon as I’d hoped, I picked up the Nexcare Pimple Patches instead. This was my first time trying anything like this, so I thought I’d give a “first impressions” review!

How to Use Them

  1. Make sure your hands are clean and the area of the pimple is completely clean.
  2. Puncture the pimple, preferably at the pore, with the tiniest needle you can find or a sterile lancet.
  3. Using tissues (do not go skin to skin) or the ends of q-tips, gently squeeze out any excess oils.
  4. Apply the pimple patch. Leave it on until it changes from translucent to white. This means that the pus and oil has been absorbed.

First Impressions

I applied four different pimple patches on my first try and two out of the four actually worked. The other two didn’t work as well and I know will be coming back because not all of the oils were absorbed. I can tell because there is still swelling in the area.

The two pimple patches that worked flattened in about 3 hours, however I do have small dark spots. Hopefully they will disappear with my consistent skincare routine.

The packaging doesn’t tell you to rupture the pimple first, however I do believe that creating an exit point is what makes the product work best. Next time I use these I’ll try to find a smaller needle, as I feel like the small pin I used was a bit too large and may have caused the dark spot that is now left.

A couple of things that I didn’t love about the Nexcare Pimple Patches were 1) the thickness of the patches and 2) how well they stuck to my skin. I’ve heard that the Cosrx brand is better in both of these ways so I’m excited to try those ones out. The Nexcare patches were very visible because they were so thick, and I had to keep pressing them down onto my skin because the edges would actually lift after a few minutes, especially if I was talking or eating.

Overall, I do think that the pimple patches work but I’m looking forward to trying out the Cosrx brand to see how they compare. If you want to see a review on those ones let me know in the comments! You can shop the Nexcare Pimple Patches here.

The Blog Series: How to Pitch to Brands

Ever wondered how to send an email pitch to brands you want to work with? Here are my five tips for writing an effective email pitch!

This month for the blog series I’m sharing all of my tips and tricks for reaching out and pitching yourself to a brand as an IG blogger. It’s taken me a while to gather up the courage to post this, as I’ve never felt I’m quite “there yet” but as blogging is now my full time job and I’ve been at it for almost two and a half years, I figure a little bit of information is better than none!

As a blogger, knowing how to pitch yourself to brands is extremely important. A lot of our work comes from contracts with brands that we love, but in order for these brands to recognize or discover us, sometimes an email needs to be sent! In the beginning stages of blogging a lot of the work has to be found, AKA we are the ones sending out emails and pitches to brands. After a while and usually after some good growth, brands will begin to find you on social and email you first to set up a collaboration.

I still send out pitches to brands regularly as I feel it’s good practice. So if you’re a beginner blogger or have been doing it a while, I hope that this post will be helpful!

#1 Introduce Yourself

The first thing that I include in my emails is an introduction. I state my full name, what type of blogger I am and where I’m from. I think it’s pretty obvious why you need to do this haha!

#2 State Your Intent

Next, I say why I’m reaching out, which is usually to discuss a potential collaboration. It can go something like this…

“I’m reaching out today in hopes of discussing a potential collaboration with brand.

“I’m reaching out because I’m interested in working with your brand.”

#3 Back Yourself Up

If you’re going to ask a brand to work with you, you’ve got to give them a reason to. This can include why you feel you align with that brand and also your statistics! Some of the bigger stats to include can be stated in the email directly, which include your following, reach and engagement rate. Make sure that these are current and completely up to date. Your engagement rate on IG can be found by simply using a Google calculator, like this one.

A big part of reaching out and landing a contract with a brand is explaining to them why you feel you’d work well together. For example, maybe they are a local company in your city and the majority of your audience is located there. This would definitely be an advantage for you and for them as whatever you promote for them will be seen by people in the same area, and therefore it will gain them really good exposure. Another reason why you might feel you’d work well with a brand is if their aesthetic or style aligns with your own. For example, a clothing brand that you reach out to should definitely fit your own personal style. This is key in creating authentic content that your followers will love.

#4 Links

One way to make it really easy for a brand to notice you is by linking directly to your social accounts in the email. Whenever I mention Instagram or YouTube I always hyperlink my pages so that the brand can easily click and visit them. I typically link the accounts in a sentence like this…

“I have a loyal following of # on Instagram as well as a subscriber count of # on YouTube.”

#5 Attachments

The last thing to include in an email pitch are attachments. These can be samples of your photography, a list of your previous brand work and a media kit. I wouldn’t suggest sending your rate card in the first email as it may be taken as presumptuous. If anything, you should definitely include your media kit! The media kit should outline your additional social media stats and demographics as well as a short bio of who you are and what your blog stands for.

If you have any questions about pitching to brands feel free to ask in the comments or DM me on Instagram! I hope this post was helpful!

Fort Langley Photo Album

A few weeks ago I had the opportunity to shoot with Moe Sasan, from ShotSpot Mobile Photo Studio. This would have been my first professional photoshoot during my blogging career, and it was a lot of fun! We got some amazing shots so I thought I’d do up a little post including my favourites.

Shot Spot is a mobile photo studio, plain and simple. Rather than your typical one location studio, Moe’s studio is on wheels and travels to YOU. How convenient is that?!

The studio fits 4-5 people and is located in the Shot Spot van. It sounds silly at first, but once you step inside it really feels like a professional headshot studio! I was amazed at the photos he took just sitting in the van. There’s lighting, props and backdrops making it easy to get the perfect shot.

The great thing about Moe’s company is that he shoots both indoor (inside the studio) and outdoor. So depending on the type of photos you want taken, it’s easy to drive to a shoot location and snap a couple pics. For our photoshoot we agreed that Fort Langley, BC fit my aesthetic perfectly.

Moe was great at directing poses, getting the best lighting and photographing the perfect moments. He shared with me that he prefers to photograph street style and “blogger style” images, which obviously was a huge plus for me! So if you’re a blogger or a creator in the Lower Mainland, this is a great option for you. Here are a few of my favourite photos from the shoot. I’ve edited the right side images with my regular filtering so you can compare the original to the edited.

If you have any questions about ShotSpot feel free to comment below or DM me on Instagram!

1-Week Celery Juice Cleanse

Here’s what happened when I drank celery juice every morning for a week straight!

A couple of weeks ago I decided to try out the pure celery juice “cleanse” that’s currently all over the internet. Ever since Kylie Jenner revealed that this is what she drinks every morning, tons of blogs and websites have been covering the benefits of it. I’m a fan of celery and my skin wasn’t doing super well at the time, so I decided to give it a shot.

Lots of people don’t do the cleanse because they think it involves a juicer, but that’s definitely not necessary. It’s totally do-able with a blender and a strainer. To my surprise, preparing the juice was actually super quick! I’ll go over the ingredients and instructions below.

Benefits

Celery juice does more than just clear up your skin, it also detoxifies, is anti-inflammatory, promotes better bone and heart health and more.

Celery is high in Vitamin K and Vitamin C making it a great way to boost the immune system too. The anti-inflammatory properties reduce bloating, acid reflux, acne, eczema and other inflammation issues. I’m not a scientist but I do know that most of these things are true from personal experience!

How to Prepare the Juice

Ingredients: 5-6 sticks of celery, 15-16oz of cold water

Prep Time: 5 minutes

  • Rinse the celery and chop the ends of the sticks off. Cut the sticks in half and throw them in a regular high speed blender.
  • Add 15-16oz of water and blend until smooth.
  • Pour the celery pulp and juice into a large strainer over a bowl. Wait for most of the juice to be released then take a spoon and push down on the pulp to release excess liquid.
  • Pour the pure juice into a cup and voila! The celery pulp is great in soups, or you can chuck it in the organics bin.

My Results

I drank this first thing in the morning for 7 days in a row and from start to finish I saw a huge change in the balance and texture of my skin. I decided to write a blog post on this a few days into my cleanse so unfortunately I don’t have photos, but I’ll try my best to explain the differences I saw. Keep in mind that I didn’t change anything else in my routine and I was using the exact same skincare as always!

#1 My skin became smoother over the course of 7 days. I often get small bumps on my forehead and chin, and with this cleanse those began to vanish. Texture of my skin is something that I notice the most. When I say I’m having a “bad skin day” that usually means that I’ve got more texture than usual, pores are larger and blackheads more visible. The celery juice, IMO, helped clear this stuff up.

#2 My skin became brighter! This is a tricky one to explain, but basically I saw a change in how my skin looked when I woke up. A lot of mornings I’ll wake up and my skin will be dull and it’ll take washing my face and putting on a new layer of skincare to “wake it up”. While doing this celery juice cleanse, my skin was brighter and almost glowing as soon as I’d wake up.

What’s next…

When I stopped drinking celery juice every morning (during my trip to LA) my skin went back to it’s normal self, which is why I’m going to continue drinking the juice every morning! I will say it’s not a pleasant drink when the celery is bitter so buy it in smaller stocks. I think it’ll take a while for me to properly tie it into my daily routine, especially when I’m away, but it’ll be worth it.

If you have any questions regarding the celery juice, feel free to comment below or DM me on Instagram (@haleyestradaa)!

How to Achieve Fullness & Volume with Thin Hair

Over the past six months I’ve been using Viviscal Canada’s products to thicken and densify my naturally thin hair. Here’s how they worked for me!

If you follow me on Instagram you may have noticed that for the past six months I’ve been taking the Viviscal Extra Strength Supplements and using the Viviscal Gorgeous Growth Densifying Shampoo, Conditioner and Elixir. The reason behind this is because I’ve been trying to add fullness and volume to my naturally fine hair. I’m finally done with my supplements and I’ve already run out of the shampoo and conditioner duo, and I can happily say that I’ve seen a big improvement in my hair!

Today I want to share my full experience with these products and hopefully if you’ve been looking for something to help volumize and densify your hair this will be the answer! Please note that this post is sponsored, however I have been using the products for six months and the results shown and stated are truly my own opinions and thoughts.

AB886D72-8BF7-47AB-85D9-BA6D9FEFD658 2.JPG

The products I was using…

Viviscal Extra Strength Supplements

The Viviscal Extra Strength Supplements promote thicker and fuller looking hair, and honestly at first I was skeptical, but after using them for six months I can see how they’ve worked from the inside out to thicken my hair. My natural hair is very difficult to give a voluminous appearance and I used to use a lot of hairspray and hair teasing to achieve a “fuller look”. Now I wake up in the morning and the volume is already there, no joke. My hair also feels thicker rather than fine and weak. This is one of my favourite results from the product as I’ve always wanted thicker hair!

Viviscal Gorgeous Growth Densifying Shampoo & Conditioner

Over my time as a blogger I have tried multiple shampoo and conditioner duos, and many of them have left my hair looking plain bland. The Viviscal Gorgeous Growth Densifying Shampoo and Conditioner do the exact opposite and it has become my go-to shampoo and conditioner. When trying out a new shampoo and conditioner I look for a few things; volume, oil control and proper hydration. The Viviscal Gorgeous Growth duo checked all of these boxes for me. I mean duh, I didn’t finish two full bottles for no reason 😛 They have a lovely botanical scent, they properly clean my scalp so it doesn’t feel like there’s residue after showering and upon air drying or blow drying my hair, I can see instant volume and thickness.

Viviscal Gorgeous Growth Densifying Elixir

One of the most important parts of my hair routine is hydrating it after I shower. I often use hair oils after towel drying my hair, so adding in the Viviscal Gorgeous Growth Densifying Elixir was no problem for me. The Elixir was a pleasant surprise after one application because it didn’t feel like a hair oil, but it provided nourishment and volume. My favourite part about this is that it’s lightweight and it really works well before blow drying and styling!

Before and after…

Although I cut my hair about half way through my Viviscal journey, the improvement in volume and thickness is very obvious. Here’s my before and after…IMG_7310-2.jpg

The before image was taken at the start of my Viviscal journey. My hair was a little longer at that time but it’s evident that it had no form of volume or thickness. In this image I had styled it as regular with my other hair products. That’s about as voluminous as my hair could get LOL.

BEFORE – September 2018

The after image was taken a couple weeks ago and yes it’s shorter, but WOW the volume and thickness have improved a ton. The last thing I wanted when I chopped my hair off was to have a limp bob, and the Viviscal products I was using helped the most to prevent that from happening. In this photo I’ve styled it using only Viviscal products; shampoo, conditioner and elixir. I blow dried my hair and then straightened it to achieve the final look!

AFTER – February 2019

And there you have it, my journey with Viviscal Canada. If you have any questions about the products or my results feel free to comment or message me on IG 🙂 As well, the entire Viviscal Gorgeous Growth Densifying Range ($19.99-$29.99) and the Viviscal Extra Strength Supplements ($59.99 for one month) are available at Shopper’s Drug Mart and www.viviscal.ca.

My Microblading Experience

I recently had my eyebrows “microbladed” and although I posted a YouTube video (here) on the process and what not, I know that some of you would prefer to see before and after photos in blog post form. So here you go!

This post isn’t sponsored, however the services I received were complimentary.

I went in to my first session in January and had my eyebrows “micro-feathered” rather than “micro-bladed”. The micro-feathering technique gives off a more natural fluffy look, rather than the thicker blade used for microblading. It also doesn’t last as long as microblading because the strokes are much finer to resemble natural hairs. I had my touch up appointment in the beginning of March, about four weeks after my first session. During my touch up we decided to do the microfeathering and add on microshading to get a more “filled in” look.

What is microfeathering?

Microfeathering is a form of microblading, a technique that uses a very fine blade to deposit pigment into the skin. Essentially it is a type of semi-permanent tattoo that aims to resemble a natural eyebrow. Microfeathering is ideal for someone look to add a bit more “fluff” to their already full brows.

What is microshading?

Microshading is a technique that is done by an electric hand tool and creates a powdered look, which resembles eyebrow powder. This is ideal for someone who is looking to create a brow that is “done”.

Does it hurt?

In my opinion, these services do not hurt. They do tend to sting sometimes, however it is completely bearable. During the session my technician applied one layer of numbing cream before the procedure, and one more layer of it halfway through the procedure. Pain levels depend on your tolerance for pain and whether or not your appointment is around your “womanly time of the month”. If your appointment is during or after (sometimes right before) your period, then you are more likely to feel a bit of pain. The feeling is like getting your eyebrows threaded!

How long do they take to heal?

Ideally you want the scabs to stay on for 2-3 weeks, but this is only possible with good care. After my first session, the scabs stayed on for about 10-12 days, however I know I could have cared for them a bit more. I did get them wet a couple times and accidentally pulled off a front scab with my wash cloth. The earlier the scab comes off, the less pigment there will be underneath. Below are a couple tips on how you can take care of your brows.

How To Care For Them

Caring for your eyebrows depends on your skin type. In my case I have combo/oily skin so I’ve been doing dry healing. Dry healing means that you leave the brows alone during the entire healing process. I refrain from applying any skincare, makeup and even water until the scabs come off. People with dry skin are advised to apply coconut oil once in a while or an ointment given by the technician to ensure that dry flakes don’t cause scabs to come off prematurely.

It’s good practice to remove makeup with a cotton pad or makeup wipe so that you can avoid the eyebrows. If there’s makeup around my eyebrows (foundation, concealer, eyeshadow) I use a q-tip and micellar water to clean the area. I also like to use a warm face cloth to cleanse my skin after removing makeup, rather than lathering and applying a cleanser.

After my touch up session I was more careful of my eyebrows and refrained from applying makeup near them. This included foundation and eyeshadow.

How much does it cost?

Depending on your technician, these services can really range depending on experience and skill level. The service I got done (microfeathering) is $300CAD and includes the first touchup. The added on microshading during my second appointment would probably add on $50-100 as well. If you’re in the Lower Mainland and are interested in getting your brows done, you can use my code “HALEY110” to get $10 off your service.

Results

I’m so happy with my results and so relieved that I don’t need to use makeup anymore! This in addition to eyelash extensions makes getting ready a BREEZE. Below are the before and afters of both of my appointments.

TOP (natural brows before 1st session); BOTTOM (after 1st session of microfeathering)
LEFT (4 weeks after 1st session); RIGHT (after touch up appointment for microfeathering and microshading
LEFT (before touch-up appointment); RIGHT (right after touch up)
LEFT (before touch up appointment); RIGHT (after touch up appointment)
Both eyebrows 8 days after the touch up session. At about day 6 they began to get flaky so I started applying some coconut oil. Here they are in the horrible patchy stage.

If you have any questions about my microblading experience please comment your question below or DM me on Instagram (@haleyestradaa).

Luxury Skincare Dupes

Here are three of my tried and true luxury skincare dupes!

Skincare is a big part of my life and although there are many amazing products out there, it’s hard to find affordable ones that do what they’re supposed to do. I’ve tried a mix of everything, from luxury skincare to drugstore products and as much as I’ve loved using the more expensive items, they haven’t always been the best for my skin. In fact a lot of my affordable skincare works just as well. So today I want to share my tried and true “luxury skincare dupes” with you.

I completely understand that the more expensive products are sometimes manufactured, sourced and produced with different ingredients. However this doesn’t always mean that they’re better than some of the more affordable options out there. Unless your skin has been trained to use only the most expensive products on the market, you’re probably going to be fine using the $20 moisturizer versus the $300 one.

This post isn’t to bash the more expensive products, because I’ll admit, if I could afford them, I’d certainly be using them. There’s something about putting luxury skincare on your face that makes you feel GOOD. Sometimes this is because of special and more expensive ingredients within them, and other times it’s just because you’re using La Mer. If you know what I mean 😉 But skincare that WORKS isn’t always expensive. It doesn’t have to be! And with that being said, let’s dive into the dupes!

La Mer Moisturizing Cool Gel Cream

Last summer I received a 1oz tub of the La Mer Moisturizing Cool Gel Cream. It’s safe to say that I was swooning. It was AMAZING! I used that product like it was the last one ever made. I used it mainly in the daytime because I knew the full benefits would show beneath makeup and on a fresh face. I also used it on minor sunburns, which healed after just two days. The cream smoothed my skin, smelled amazing and miraculously healed my sunburns. And YES, I have found a dupe for it.

The moisturizer that I am now using comes very close to the La Mer Cool Gel Cream, besides the sunburn healing (because I haven’t tested that yet). I’m currently using the Youth Cream from The Body Shop and I’m already on my second jar. This cream moisturizes, without leaving a greasy finish; it actually leaves a very pretty glow on the skin! I use it day and night, underneath makeup and on a fresh face. I’ve seen a huge improvement in the texture of my skin as well as hydration. In comparison to the La Mer Cool Gel Cream at $230CAD, this Youth Cream rings in at a total of $34.00CAD. It’s definitely approved on my end!

Lancôme Advanced Génifique Youth Activating Serum

In June last year I was gifted the Lancôme Advanced Génifique Youth Activating Serum (that’s a mouthful) and put it to use right away. After using it overnight for just a week I saw a huge improvement in the size of my pores and the smoothness of my skin. I believe I even reviewed it on the blog here once or twice. This was a product that I also used as if it was the last one ever produced. I used it up until the last drop and was very sad to say goodbye. Since it retails for $134CAD I was not willing to purchase it myself, and instead went on a hunt for a comparable but affordable serum.

Last month I was introduced to the Youth Concentrate Serum from The Body Shop and instantly fell in love. This serum has the exact same consistency as the Lâncome one and seems to work just as well. I use it overnight after my toner and before my facial oil. I’ve seen a big improvement in the size of my pores, softness of my skin and the overall appearance of my skin. In comparison, the Youth Concentrate Serum from TBS costs less than half the price of the Lâncome ($50CAD).

Rodan + Fields Redefine Multi-Function Eye Cream

When I was an active R+F Consultant I used the Multi-Function Eye Cream every single night and had amazing results. I realize though that $75CAD for a small eye cream just isn’t in some people’s budgets, so I started to look for alternatives to share with you guys. I tried a lot of eye products, serums, rollers, creams etc. and it took me months to find something comparable in size and cheaper in price. The R+F eye cream is fantastic, I won’t lie about that, but it is steep in price so a great alternative is Kiehl’s Creamy Eye Treatment with Avocado.

The Kiehl’s eye cream is the same size as the R+F one and costs almost less than half the price ($40CAD). It’s just as good in my opinion because it de-puffs and reduces darkness. I can’t speak for the reduction of fine lines because I don’t have any….so that will be reviewed at a later time LOL.

If you have any of your own tried and true luxury skincare dupes, I would love to hear about them in the comments!
