How I Keep My Long Hair Healthy

Keeping your hair healthy can become quite the task when you’re constantly applying heat and product to your hair, and I’m not talking about the beneficial products. My hair journey has been up and down from uber short to beyond my bum long but whenever I’m intentionally growing it out or maintaining its length I always do the same things to keep it healthy.

Even if you have completely virgin hair (non-coloured or bleached) and never use heat on it, environmental factors will still get to your ends and your gorgeous, shiny, and healthy hair will no longer be the same. Hair requires maintenance and proper care, just like your skin! Check out my tips below for keeping your long hair healthy.

#1 Trim your ends bi-weekly or monthly.

#2 Always apply heat protectant before using a blow dryer, curler, or straightening iron.

#3 Apply hair oils to the tips of your hair after every shower.

#4 Brush your hair starting at your ends and working up to your roots.

#5 Never apply conditioner to your scalp.

#6 Never apply shampoo to the tips of your hair.
