How to Grow Your Hair Faster

Have you ever cut your hair really short, either spontaneously or planned, and then realized two weeks later that its not for you? ME TOO. And let me tell you, I found it extremely hard to do hairstyles that I liked with short hair. I often like to let my hair flow in its natural form without styling it, but with short hair that didn’t work so well. I was constantly straightening it to curl in my ends like the hairdresser did and half the time I looked like Lord Farquaad from Shrek. Ha! I’m not trying to bad mouth short hair, but there are times when we cut our hair and immediately regret it.  Here are my secrets to growing your hair faster:

1. X-nay on the heat! We all know that heat damages your hair (even if you sometimes spray on protectant) and although it might be a pain to stop ironing, curling, and blow-drying your hair, it is necessary! If you’re trying to grow your hair, cut down on most or all heat that you would usually use on it. If you absolutely NEED to iron or curl your hair, then make sure you’re using a heat protectant!

2. Use a caffeine or ginseng based shampoo and conditioner. I personally used the Marc Anthony Caffeine Grow Long Shampoo and Conditioner duo. Personally I think it definitely has helped my hair grow faster!

I usually wait until these are on sale for $7.99 at Shoppers Drugmart!

3. Massage your scalp while you shampoo and condition. I used to think that putting conditioner in my scalp rather than just the tips would make it oilier, but the conditioner I used didn’t do that at all! Massaging will get the blood flowing near your roots and stimulate the hair follicles.

4. Condition with your head upside-down. Seems strange, I know, but apparently it also helps! Just like the massaging, it circulates the blood near your roots and stimulates the follicles.

Now there are tons of ideas online, but I never did any hair masks, oils, or DIY treatments. If you have other hair growing secrets please share! I would love to know.
